A recently renovated large 7 bedroom, 7 bath farmhouse on two floors and restored with exceptional character using original stone, bricks, terra cotta flooring, antiques and Tuscan wood furniture.  The property is located in the spectacular countryside of the Orcia valley, renowned since the end of the first millennium as an important stage on the Via Francigena, the  road from France to Rome: 2 miles from the ancient walled town of  Monticchiello with shops and restaurants and not far from the classic hill towns of  Montepulciano and Pienza.   The owners named the farmhouse Le Fontanelle "little springs".  Well sized rooms with wood-beamed ceilings and open to the most beautiful views of the valley, with wheat fields, olive groves and cypress trees.   Le Fontanelle is the perfect setting for family reunions or groups of friends looking for an “oasis” of tranquillity, surrounded by art and culture.

On the ground floor there is a fully equipped chef’s kitchen, a huge living-dining room with double doors opening to the front patio and to the back garden. In the smaller living room there is a large stone fireplace surrounded by wide red sofas spreading a warm and cosy atmosphere. Five spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms complete the remaining space on this floor.

A stone outdoor staircase leads to the upper floor unit; four breathtaking arched windows overlook the valley and the huge oak tree in front of the house. Another large stone fireplace offers an ideal retreat for afternoon reading.  There is a fully equipped kitchen with beautiful vistas from the many windows.

The extensive lawn has terracotta pots with geraniums, wild roses and bushes of lavender and rosemary that create a beautiful frame around the large swimming pool. The covered dining space with fireplace, pizza oven, barbeque, table and chairs will let guests enjoy unforgettable Tuscan sunsets. A laundry room with washing-machine, hangers, ironing board and iron is available. 

The house is equipped with satellite TV, telephone, dishwasher, oven, refrigerator and freezer, and central heating. Maid service is provided for two hours a day, Monday thru Saturday.  Extra cleaning and a cook can be arranged at an additional cost.   7-night minimum stay. Self-catering.
